What Does it Take to Run a Facility Like Great Cats ?

Running a facility like Great cats of Indiana takes a multi-talented group of dedicated and creative people to operate effectively.   The vast majority of the work we do is handled in-house. This means that when something needs to get done, we need to develop a way, or learn, how to do it.  Because of this, our directors, core staff and volunteers come with diverse and varied backgrounds, experience and training. Many are "Jack of all trades" types. On any given day there are usually many different projects, in many different stages that need our attention.

The job description here is simple: Do whatever needs to get done.  Some things everyone does, some things only a handful know how to do.  On any given day, we end up fulfilling many roles: Designers, engineers, steel fabricators, welders, carpenters, electricians, architects, plumbers, landscapers,  caretakers, veterinarian assistants,  animal behaviorists,  sanitation workers, heavy equipment operators, mechanics, PR workers, Tour guides... and many more as needs develop.
